GTA 6 Lexicon

Your A to Z of Grand Theft Auto VI. Leonida, Vice City, the protagonists, the mechanics and the classic series terms, all in one searchable place.

Bonnie and Clyde

Series & Lore

The famous outlaw couple that the Jason and Lucia partnership is often compared to, hinting at a ride-or-die criminal romance.

Character Switching

Gameplay

Swapping between playable protagonists on the fly, a mechanic introduced in GTA 5. Expected to feature with Jason and Lucia in GTA 6.

Cheat Code

Gameplay

A special input that triggers an effect in single-player, such as full health, weapons or a spawned vehicle. Using one typically disables trophies for that session.

Cheat Phone

Gameplay

A system from GTA 5 where cheats are dialled as phone numbers rather than button combinations. A likely candidate to return in GTA 6.

CJ

Series & Lore

Carl Johnson, the protagonist of 2004 classic GTA: San Andreas. A fan favourite and a frequent point of comparison for new leads.

Franklin, Michael & Trevor

Series & Lore

The three playable protagonists of GTA 5, whose interwoven stories set the template for the dual-lead structure of GTA 6.

GTA Online

Gameplay

The persistent multiplayer mode that runs alongside the single-player campaign. Cheats never work here, and it is a separate experience from story mode.

Heist

Gameplay

A multi-stage robbery mission with planning, a crew and a payoff. A signature set piece of modern GTA games.

HESOYAM

Series & Lore

The legendary San Andreas cheat code that refilled health, armor and money. A symbol of the classic typed-cheat era of GTA.

Leonida

Places

The fictional US state that GTA 6 is set in, a modern take on Florida. It contains Vice City along with keys, wetlands and miles of coastline.

Leonida Keys

Places

A chain of sun-bleached islands and causeways south of Vice City, inspired by the Florida Keys. Boats, bridges and small-town trouble.

Liberty City

Places

Rockstar's fictional New York City, the setting of GTA 3 and GTA 4. Part of the wider series map of stand-in American cities.

Los Santos

Places

The fictional Los Angeles featured in GTA 5 and San Andreas. Mentioned here for context; GTA 6 moves the action east to Leonida.

Lucia

People

The second playable protagonist and the first female lead in the modern GTA era. Her story opens with a hard-won second chance alongside Jason.

Open World

Gameplay

A freely explorable map with no loading walls between areas. GTA 6 is described as the largest and most detailed world in the series so far.

Downloading the game files ahead of launch so you can play the moment servers go live. GTA 6 preload is set for November 12, 2026.

Ultimate Edition

Editions

The premium package: everything in Standard plus the Vintage Vice City Pack, launch cosmetic content and an in-game cash bonus.

Vice City

Places

The neon-soaked metropolis at the heart of Leonida, Rockstar's reimagining of modern Miami. It previously headlined the 2002 game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Vintage Vice City Pack

Editions

The headline bonus of the Ultimate Edition: a nostalgia-themed bundle of retro vehicles, outfits and in-game extras.

Wanted Level

Gameplay

The star meter that tracks how hard the police are chasing you. More stars mean a heavier response. Cheats can raise or lower it instantly.
